Record breaking East of England

It seems that this year at East of England, a few achievements were made through different breeds.

The top Beagle winning Kennel, Dialynne, have been known for many years of their consistant winning Champions, & group winners. What is most amazing is the fact that they celebrate three generations of prefix holders: at first we had Marion, who is passed to award CCs in many breeds here in the UK, her daughter Diana, who is also passed for multi CCs, and more recently, Diana's Daughter, Melanie, who recently awarded her first set of CCs in Beagles at Blackpool in June this year.

Melanie is now sole owner of the Dialynne prefix and in the past couple of years has had great success with her homebred Ch Dialynne Maximus. He currently has 21 CCs, a Champion Stakes finalist, Hound Group Winner at Crufts 2008, and many more, but at East of England, he was declared Best in Show, a first for both dog and handler. Melanie has had an exciting few months, as she has just celebrated the birth of her first child, Gabriel Raymond, she awarded her first set of CCs in Beagles, just three days prior to Gabriel's birth, and last week, celebrated her first Best in Show all breeds, with Max. Congratulations to Melanie & Max, and to the birth of your Son, Gabriel. Not to forget Melanie's Husband, Lee Raymond.

In Wire Fox Terriers, the breed record was equalled by the beautiful Ir Ch/Ch Blackdale Carousel. Owned & handled by Andrew Goosell, she celebrates a total of 19CCs, from which this record has been kept since 1964. I’m sure it wont be long before Andrew makes history by becoming the new record holder in the UK.

Somebody who needs no introduction from the showing world is Michael Coad. A handler of Crufts Best in Show winner, and multi-Best in Show all breeds UK & overseas. Michael is known for his outstanding breeding of Bichon Frise under the Pamplona prefix. Celebrations were on order at East of England, as his young bitch, Pamplona Could It Be Magic, took her 3rd CC with Best of Breed, and thus making her the UKs youngest Bitch Champion. Meanwhile, Michael's partner, Geoff Corish, kept busy pre East of England, as he was judging several breeds at the World Dog Show, Sweden' Please see the World Show special, for Geoff Corish's review on the show this year.!!

It was also a first time for OUR DOGS very own David Cavill, who says he ‘thoroughly enjoyed’ judging his first all breeds BIS at a championship show!

As they say, 'Records are there to be broken, but the facts remain the same!!''
