Once again, Canine Freestyle GB were honoured to be invited to host the Heelwork To Music marquee at this magnificent show over the weekend of 10th and 11th May 2008.

Work on getting the show organised started late last year with the application of the HTM Licence from the Kennel Club by North Derbyshire Dog Agility Club to whom we are once more grateful for their support.

Canine Freestyle GB are also thrilled that Royal Canin continued their support of the club providing vouchers for bags of their dog food for those who were placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

The two day Heelwork To Music Competition was held amidst an array of other dog disciplines all taking part within the grounds of Brentwood Leisure Centre. The HTM was in a large marquee with grass good enough for a bowling green! Prior to the arrival on site by the committee members of Canine Freestyle GB, the organising of the HTM Arena, camping and parking, including the fine manicuring of the Area are under the control of Roy Dyer who leads his merry band of volunteer helpers (The Essex Dog Training Club) to ensure that our needs are addressed. Thank you to the entire team for all the hard work which is completed before our arrival.

Entries for the show were good enough to ensure two days full of entertainment for the crowds who attend the Brentwood Showground.

On Friday afternoon, The Canine Freestyle GB Committee along with numerous helpers set to work in order to transform the marquee into a stage for the competitors. The dark green fencing with colourful bunting and banners of those who supported us added a touch of colour and gave a good finish to the arena for the performers.

The weather was superb – two lovely sunny days with the occasional breeze meant that the grass surface was still as good as when the show started by the time all the routines had been completed on Sunday night.

Canine Freestyle GB would like to thank Chris de Jong for supplying a very accurate scoring system which has made this task so much easier for all involved.
