Top Euro Wins!

IT’S THE sort of result that all dog exhibitors dream of and which usually come along only once in a while. But for two dog exhibitors those dream results came through twice in two successive weekends!

Ch Chayo Moet Chandon Sue Ellis of Chayo Alaskan Malamutes was more than delighted when her Malamute bitch, Ch Chayo Moet Chandon, bred out of her well-known dog Ch Chayo Blue Thunder and shown for by her friend Pernilla Sandstrom, made great progress at the Malmo International Show over the weekend of 15th/16th March gaining her first CACIB, Best of Breed and then going onto be shortlisted in the final six for the Group.

Ch Vi'skaly's Spirit of AlaskaAt the same show, Pyrenean Mountain Dog MBIS MBISS Swedish & Danish Ch Vi'skaly's Spirit of Alaska owned by Ingela, Pernilla & Bo Sandstrom, won CACIB, Best of Breed, Best of Group and then went on to clinch Best In Show. He was handled by Pernilla and was a popular winner.

This fine dog was shown at Crufts just weeks ago where he was placed Group 4. He is now being campaigned in the UK by Sue, whilst Pernilla is campaigning Sue’s Malamutes in Europe and Scandinavia.

A total of 4,800 dogs were entered at Malmo, which shows the full extent of both dogs’ achievements.

Pernilla at Stockholm ShowThe PMD Judge was Carsten Birk, from Denmark; the Group judge was Rajko Rotner from Slovenia, whilst BIS judge was Birthe Larsen Roswall from Denmark. The Malamute judge was Henrik Soeborg from Denmark.

As if this wasn’t enough, at the Stockholm International Show held over the Easter weekend of 21st/22nd March, and at which 3,700 dogs were entered, Ch Chayo Moet Chandon won her second CACIB, Best of Breed and went onto win the Group, before finally being placed Best In Show 3!

Ch Chayo Moet ChandonThe same weekend at the Combined Canine Association Show in Dublin, Sue’s Malamute dog Ch Chayo Blue Thunder made history. He won his fourth CACIB, Best of Breed and took Group 2, thus becoming both UK and International Champion - the first British dog of his breed to do so.

But there’s more! Another of Blue Thunder’s daughter Chayo Forget Me Not won her first CACIB and took Best Opposite Sex!

Sue Ellis told OUR DOGS: ‘It’s a dream come true, it really is. You always hope to do well, but this really blew us both away!’
