Patriotic Bulldog painting to be sold in London
Sotheby’s of New Bond Street, will be offering the ultimate in patriotic paintings on Wednesday 7th may when a painting by Maud Earl, of the Champion Bulldog, Dimboola goes under the hammer.
Lot 73 is an oil on canvas signed and dated (Maud Earl/ 96) and measurers 30” x 40” (76 x 101.5cm). It is titled What We Have We'll Hold and Sothebys have placed a pre sale estimate on it of £30,000-£50,000.
This is the third time recently that the painting has been on offer. Back in December 2003 Christies of New York offered it for sale whilst the same auction house again offered it for sale last June again in New York. The painting comes originally from a private collection in Canada
