Pensioner admits cruelty


A PENSIONER from the West Midlands has admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a dog after it plunged to its death from a fifth floor balcony.

Sixty-one-year old Shenna Spence was supposed to be lookng after the Staffordshire Bull Terrier for an elderly friend last October when the incident occurred. Spence has admitted that she failed to attend to the dog’s needs by which causing unnecessary suffering on two charges. Her husband, Alexander, 60, has pleaded not guilty to the same charges.

RSPCA prosecutors will decide on 14th May whether or not to accept her basis of plea. The couple will reappear before West Bromwich Magistrates’ Court to hear the verdict.
