New single to help PDSA
Singer-songwriter Helen Boulding is helping to raise funds for leading veterinary charity PDSA by donating the proceeds from her latest single, It’s You, out 3 November.
The song started life as the soundtrack to a recent PDSA TV advertising campaign, designed to raise additional funds for the charity. After an overwhelming response to the tune, Helen decided to record it as single and generously offered to support PDSA further by donating the profits.
Paul Cubitt of PDSA says: ‘We have been inundated by supporters asking about the music to our TV advert, so we’re thrilled that Helen chose to release the track. We are also over the moon that proceeds from sales of the single will come back to the charity to help us provide free veterinary treatment thousands of pets every year.
PDSA is urging animal lovers to download the single today and help get Helen’s song to the top of the charts.
The song will also feature on Helen’s re-released debut album, New Red Dress which is out on 1 December. Helen pulled in a few showbiz favours, with rock legend Bryan Adams shooting the photo for the album sleeve and The Verve’s Simon Tong co-writing a couple of songs.
Sheffield-born Helen says: ‘I’m a huge animal lover and so I’m delighted to be supporting PDSA. I performed at the launch of the charity’s celebrity calendar, Pet Pawtraits, in the summer so got to hear all about the fantastic work it does.
‘It’s amazing that PDSA cares for more than 350,000 pets every year, which is funded entirely by the public, so I’m glad that I can do my bit to support such a worthy cause.’
Animal lovers can get the single by downloading it at www.pdsasong.org.uk for only 50p. Everyone who does will be helping PDSA to provide free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need across the UK.
