Obituary - Robert Dore
I was devastated to hear that Robert Dore had died. He was one of the loveliest, gentlest and kindest men I ever had the good fortune to know, He was wise and with his wisdom generous, liberal and and with his liberalism understanding of those who disagreed with him, thoughtful but never condescending and generous with his time to anyone who asked for his help and advice.
I have corresponded with him constantly over the past few weeks and I and all those who knew him well will greatly miss him.
Words can’t say enough to explain how I felt when you passed away so peacefully on Friday.
You have left the deepest gap in our lives, I could never say what I feel? Nothing I can say is anywhere near what I feel.
What a wonderful, kind, caring, honest person you were. For anyone who had the pleasure of knowing you, there is a wonderful clear star shining down for you. I feel so very sad and yet your legacy will live on through Maureen! I will miss you so very much, but you are at peace now!
Thank you so much for allowing me the honour of your friendship. It will always remain so special to me and the sheer kindness you gave even when you were in a hurry you always made time for me. Heaven has a special Guy and earth has special memories!
God Bless you and comfort you!

It was with great sadness that I learned last Friday of the death, peacefully in his sleep, of Robert Dore.
After many years in dogs, mainly Chows, he came to German Spitz. Although never showing them personally he became a Club member often stewarding for the breed with his wife Maureen, and subsequently awarding CC's in both sizes. He also co-owned with Louisa Rogerson some Mittel German Spitz including the quality black bitch Ch. Kateandy Black Magic with Nosregor whose lovely brown daughter Ch. Nosregor Bewitched for Musique is currently winning well in the Show Ring.
For several years he edited and printed the Newsletter for our Club including within it's pages interesting articles reflecting his wide range and depth of knowledge.
I will remember Robert as always being smartly dressed when appearing in the ring either to judge or steward, or when simply attending to watch. Always very polite, courteous and even handed to all he came in contact with. A gentleman of the Show Scene. He will be sorely missed.

The funeral of Robert will be held at Gloucester Crematorium at 1pm on Thursday 13th November. All are welcome but Maureen requests bright clothes and no flowers.
