True or False?
Following a somewhat strange period of activity within the world of dogs recently, OUR DOGS would like to clear up a few rumours that have been flying around the dog circuit over the last few weeks.
Pedigree have withdrawn their sponsorship of Crufts starting in 2009.
Hills are not attending Crufts with their trade stand due to commercial reasons.
There is a new supporter for the Champion Stakes classes at many General Championship Shows in 2009....that will be Eukanuba who have recently written to all the major shows inviting them to take part in the new look stakes, and OUR DOGS understands that there has been a brilliant reaction from the shows concerned.
Watch out for a final late in October with exciting potential prizes for the overall winner. More details here in next weeks’ OUR DOGS.
Hills have pulled out of shows in 2009. Not so, they have plans to attend a large number of shows including LKA and Manchester.
Pedigree are not having a stand at Crufts. Not so, they have confirmed to OUR DOGS their intention to attend with a stand.
Southern Counties are leaving Newbury Showground.... false again; the society have a rolling deal at this venue and will be back next year and the year after that according to Dave Cavill. No truth in the rumour that dogs have been banned from the showground.
Windsor’s entry fee is going up to £29.00. False! This rumour has been running around for weeks, but is completely false. Secretary Irene Terry speaking to OUR DOGS this week has confirmed that the entry fee remains at £24.00 the same as it was for the 2008 show; Mrs Terry said, “ I do not know where these rumours start, but I can assure your readers that the £24 entry fee remains.”
