Obituary - Sh Ch Gardenway Crackling Rosie
I had a very distressing phone call today from Lynn Eales, on holiday in Scotland, to say that she had woken up to find that Sh Ch Gardenway Crackling Rosie had had a stroke overnight and was very weak. Having discovered that the nearest vet was 70 miles away, they set off to try and get help. Sadly Rosie died on the way. As you can imagine Lynn and her husband Roy are devastated.
Rosie was by Sh Ch Gardenway Dramatist ex Gardenway Petite Fleur - a daughter of Ch Gardenway Charlotte. She was just 11 years and one month when she died. When I looked through my records to check when she got her title (2002), I came across the following critique by Doreen Armstead who gave her her 2nd CC and BIS at the HVS ch show in 2001. Doreen said: "Strong well-bodied bitch, maturity won the day, head with good eye colour and shape, expression and kindness shone through, aloof but friendly.(That was Rosie!) Tight feet, strong bone, her movement was positive, well muscled up. My BIS, one to take home"
I saw Rosie only a couple of weeks ago and there was no hint of what was to come. I know she has left a big hole in Lynn's heart.
