Dynamic Donny to represent the UK in Long Beach

Ch/Am Ch Afterglow The Big Tease, striking homebred white standard poodle, bred and owned by Mike Gadsby and co-owned by Jason Lynn has been announced as this year’s UK representative at the Eukanuba World Challenge, to be held in California in December.

Ch/Am Ch Afterglow The Big TeaseDonny will compete after gaining six BIS and two RBIS, as well as nine groups and two Reserve in group wins, amalgamating in 240 points, making him the UK’s number one top dog.
Zbyszek Kalenik, Eukanuba External Relations told us: ‘We are delighted that the dog with the highest number of points will be representing the UK and we wish him all the best of luck’.
‘Donny, has gained 18 CC’s to date. His first three CCs came with BIS; two all breed Ch shows (Welks and SKC 07) and finishing with CC and BIS at South Western Poodle Club Show. In addition to the above he has multi group placings at general championship shows in the UK, plus several other BIS at Poodle Breed Club Ch. Shows.

Prior to his acclaimed show ring career in the UK, he was successfully campaigned to multi BIS titles in the USA, including winning BIS at the famed Poodle Club of America as a class dog. Donny, who competed and won BOB at the AKC /Eukanuba National Championships in Florida in 2006, will return to the USA to compete at the Eukanuba World Challenge in the Europe and Africa section 1. He will be one of 52 top dogs competing in the four global sections for the coveted title “Eukanuba World Challenge Champion 2008” and generous prize money courtesy of Eukanuba to be awarded by Hans Muller, FCI President and all round judge.

Breeder and co-owner Mike told us: “We are thrilled to be taking part in this fantastic global event. It will be a great honour for our Donny'to represent the UK. Jason and I look forward to meeting other breeders and fanciers from around the world.' Mike adds “Donny's charisma and joy of life has been such an important asset to him as show dog. The fact is no matter how immaculate he may look when he steps into the ring, the other 99% of the time he is just a normal dog who plays outside, runs on the beach, steals food from the table, and rolls in the grass. He is so even-tempered and well adjusted that he walks into every situation with such a confident demeanour, he makes friends wherever he goes. We honestly feel that it's this 'ordinary life' that builds the foundation of great show dogs.”

Jeff Luscott who awarded BIS to Donny at Belfast (the last qualifying show for points for this event) said “I had an excellent line up of dogs in my Best in Show ring. I was privileged to go over this stunning Standard Poodle; he is very impressive and full of exuberance. It was a pleasure to award him top honours. I wish him every success as the UK representative at the Eukanuba World Challenge”.
