Retired Greyhound Trust
The Retired Greyhound Trust will be holding a Gathering at Nottingham Racecourse on the 27th September.
This is their biggest ever fundraising event and is expected to attract over 2000 dog lovers and 500 ex racing Greyhounds.
There will be plenty of activities for on the day including go karts, stalls, Pampered Pooch Corner, a fun dog show and a sponsored stroll around the racecourse.
The fun dog shows will culminate with one being crowned Retired Greyhound of the Year. In 2007, the title was claimed by the handsome white and fawn ex-racer Sunny, who scooped the £5,000 prize for Greyhoundhomer, the Essex branch of the RGT that found Sunny a new home once he retired from the track.
Organisers are anticipating that this year’s event will be even bigger and better than the 2007 Great Greyhound Gathering which saw greyhound enthusiasts from all across the country come together to celebrate canine companions and champion the breed.
“This event is the perfect opportunity to spread the message that greyhounds make great pets and to demonstrate how wonderful these dogs are. The Great Greyhound Gathering will be a real celebration!” explains RGT Director Ivor Stocker.
