Victim ‘savaged’ in attack by dog


A 21-year-old man has been hurt in an attack by a pit bull terrier type dog in Manchester. Police said the victim was left with extensive bite marks all over his body after he was mauled by the dog in Chatsworth Road, Stretford.

He is now in a stable condition in hospital after undergoing specialist treatment, police said.
Two men were with the dog when the attack happened on Friday. A 19-year-old man has been arrested and bailed. The man suffered bites on his arms, legs, back and head.

A dog has been seized and is currently in a secure compound.
