Ch/Ir Ch Jardhu the Republican

THE SHIH Tzu Ch/Ir Ch Jardhu the Republican has died at nearly 17 years of age. His owner/breeders Jim and Vikki Grugan made the decision to have him put to sleep when, among other ailments, he suffered a torsion.

He was handled by Vikki to his many notable wins. He won 42 CCs, 25 BOB & 20 RCCs coming back to win his 42nd CC at nearly 10 years of age already having gained the breed CC record some years earlier, which still stands today. He was an excellent ambassador for the breed and the family revolved around him.

In his breed he was Top Puppy, Top Shih Tzu and Top CC winning male for three years. BOB at Crufts, also POTY finalist, BPIS at Bournemouth Championship Show, RBIS at City of Birmingham Championship Show, with many group placings. Enjoying wins in Pedigree Veteran Stakes being a finalist twice and 5th overall on the last occasion.

He very much enjoyed travelling and showing which was a good thing, as living in Scotland resulted in covering thousands of miles annually. Up until the end he kept in good health never missing a show for which he had been entered.

He outlived the champion offspring he produced and features in all the pedigrees of the Jardhus now being shown and winning to date.
