Inquest into infant death opened

AN INQUEST into the death of four-year-old John Paul Massey, who died after being attacked by a pit bull terrier recently, was opened on Monday.

The youngster was staying with his grandmother on in Wavertree, Liverpool when his uncle’s dog attacked him.

The uncle, Christian Foulkes, was arrested for manslaughter and later released on bail.

His mother, Helen Foulkes, who was babysitting John Paul on the night of the incident, battled to free the pit bull from the four-year-old.

The inquest was adjourned until February 9.
