Wood Green Animal Day

WOOD GREEN Animal Shelters are preparing their biggest event of the summer with their Animal Fun Day on 14th June to be held at their Godmanchester Shelter.

Not only will there be lots of Wood Green animals at the event but people are being encouraged to bring their own Wood Green rehomed dogs so that staff can see just how well they are doing with their families found by the animal welfare organisation. There will also be a chance to show off your dog to see if he/she is chosen as The Wood Green Rescue Dog in the novelty dog show.
A huge plus for the event is the appearance of popular children’s television character Peppa Pig who will be making special appearances throughout the day. There will also be the opportunity to have your canine companion’s microchipped by qualified Wood Green staff if they haven’t already been done and there will be lots of advice available regarding all of the animals that the Charity rehomes.

Linda Cantle, Deputy Head of Animal Welfare, said: ‘This is going to be a fabulous day out for the whole family and we are looking forward to seeing lots of our old Wood Green friends return to say hello. Peppa Pig coming along is a huge bonus which I’m sure will be extremely exciting for all of the children. The aim of the day is to highlight responsible pet ownership and also celebrate animals in our everyday lives.’

Also taking place on the day is a mascot race involving the Wood Green mascots, Pumpkin and Elwood. The race will take place at 3.50pm in the Main Ring which will also have Husky Racing demonstrations and the all important Peppa Pig appearances.

The event is from 10am - 4pm on Sunday 14th June. Everyone is welcome with their friendly dogs.
