Peppa Pig to make guest appearance at fun day

WOOD GREEN Animal Shelters are preparing their biggest event of the summer this Sunday with their Animal Fun Day at their Godmanchester Shelter.

Appearances will be made throughout the day by popular children’s television character Peppa Pig to say hello to all of her young fans. There will be lots of exciting events taking place during the day with a Siberian Husky race and the Wood Green mascot race.

Not only will there be lots of Wood Green animals at the event but people are being encouraged to bring their own dogs including those rehomed from Wood Green so that staff can see just how well they are doing with their families found by the animal welfare organisation. There will also be a chance to show off your dog to see if he/she is chosen as The Wood Green Rescue Dog in the novelty dog show.

There will be a microchipping and weight clinic for dogs and lots of free expert advice for all your animal companions. For those interested in the larger animals there will be a farrier demonstration in the stable yard, and for the fans of our feline friends there is a special fun marquee. There is also seed planting and toy making for those smaller pets.

Linda Cantle, Deputy Head of Animal Welfare, said: ‘We are hoping to see lots of people come along to our exciting fun day on Sunday. There is a huge variety of things to see and do for all the family, and we are hoping to see lots of rehomed Wood Green dogs come back to see us.’

The event is from 10am - 4pm on Sunday 14th June. Everyone’s welcome with their friendly dogs.
