All wecome at the Bulldog Fun Day UK!

Blackpool and Fylde Bulldog Club will be holding a Bulldog Fun Day UK on Sunday 7th June from 11am until 4.30pm at the Newark Pavillion, Newark Showground near Nottingham.

The day’s events will raise money for Bulldog rescue and rehoming and it is hoped it will be an excellent opportunity for all Bulldog lovers from across the UK to get together. The aim of the day will be to allow breeders, pet owners and Bulldog lovers to learn more about the breed and activities which owners can take part in.

The day’s planned activities will include a ‘Meet the Bulldog’ which will be along the lines of Discover Dogs. Breeders will take turns to spend an hour in the hot seat, answering questions put to them about every aspect of the breed, a demonstration of showing techniques and an opportunity for pet owners to have a go at showing their dog - this latter activity has been very popular at the last two Bulldog UK events - Bulldog care, and other everyday things a Bulldog owner can do for their dogs. Other attractions will be a slide show, a fancy dress parade, stands manned by various Bulldog breed clubs and the day will end with a Question & Answer session, with questions being directed at a panel of experienced Bulldog owners and breeders. There will also be a barbeque for people to purchase food if they wish. Everyone attending will be given a rosette to say they have had a fun day with Bulldogs!

Vicky Collins-Nattrass, who is one of the organisers of Bulldog Fun Day UK, told us: ‘The venue was chosen as it has wet weather accommodation, and a more central location, easy to reach from all the Midlands. I have long felt that the pet owner has not much contact with other bulldoggers as one only has to have a bulldog out on the street to know how many people want to stop and see them, this event is to bridge the gap between the show world and bulldog owners everywhere. Now we can to show the media we have healthy, happy bulldogs!’
