Lynn runs for rare disease research

Lynn Bailey
Lynn, who hopes to raise money for research into SRM

A BEAGLE breeder from Seaham, County Durham, who hopes to raise awareness of Steroid Responsive Meningitis (SRM) in dogs is in training for the Great North 10k Run where she hopes to raise enough sponsor money to donate to the Animal Health Trust for research into this condition.

Lynn Bailey of Salenko Beagles sadly lost one of her own Beagles to the disease in October 2008. ‘Murphy’ was the first known dog to die from SRM in Britain and Lynn is aware of another young Beagle who has since fallen victim to the same canine illness.

The Great North 10k Run - which is the women’s equivalent of the Great North Run - takes place in Sunderland on Sunday 12th July. If you would like to sponsor Lynn and support her on her mission against SRM visit, or email or telephone 07977 483031 or 0191 5816111 to make a donation.
