100 not out for Corgi judge

Laura Martin

Cambria Welsh Corgi Club held an Open Show in Market Drayton on Sunday 12 April 2009. This was a very special occasion as the Club President and Best in Show Judge Laura Martin (Caruen) celebrated her 100th birthday on the day.

Laura first started showing Pembrokes in the 1950’s and also remains interested in Cardigan Welsh Corgis. She still attends Club meetings taking an active part in discussions.

The occasion was marked with birthday cake, cards and flowers. A letter of congratulations from the Kennel Club was read out, Laura had also received birthday greetings from the Queen.
BIS winner was the Pembroke corgi Maddox’ & Hughes Rosewood Set Sail to Salvenik (Imp), RBIS Stalker’s Cardigan corgi, Kincroft Evelyn Lilydale. The Committee provided the exhibitors with a complimentary buffet, tea and coffee, a party atmosphere prevailed. Another nice touch was the Easter greetings card for all exhibitors. All present thoroughly enjoyed partaking in this memorable day of history in the making.
