Global Canine Welfare Responsibility Forum
The 2009 NGKC 1st National Dog Show and the 4th Golden Necklace Championship will be held on November 27th to 29th at Binhai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (BICEC), Teda, Tianjin, China.
The forum will focus on practical and effective approaches in improving canine welfare with a harmonious co-existence between humans and canines. The organisers hope the forum will be of interest to private enterprises and governments keen to foster responsible dog ownership, breeding for healthy, happy dogs and promoting the training of service dogs. International participation by world respected canine organisations and individuals is expected at this forum that will have far reaching benefits for all participants.
The Forum’s primary goal is the implementation of a humane and effective “Dog Population Management Pilot Program” for Tianjin that could eventually be implemented in all of China.
The organiser is the National General Kennel Club (NGKC).
NGKC is a government-licensed organisation with its headquarters based in Tianjin, operations centre in Beijing and foreign relations office in New York. Founded in 2005 by Mr Shi Zhaoxin in Tianjin, NGKC has adopted the values, philosophy and systems of the American Kennel Club (AKC).
A contract with the AKC, signed on December 10th, 2007, in New York, gives NGKC exclusive rights in China to recording and processing services provided by AKC-Global Services.
NGKC’s Registry incorporates mandatory DNA and microchip in all of its registrations, and mandatory random inspections of all its registered breeders.
