Magic retires on top note

Ch. Dvojica Voodoo JW

Magic, aka Mark Dunnachie’s Dalmatian bitch Ch. Dvojica Voodoo JW, saw her career off in fine style at last weekend’s Driffield, when she was retired from the ring after briging the house down as the show’s BIS, under Jack bispham.

Not content with that, she also became the top winning Dalmatian ever, gaining her 47th CC, 43 of which have been with BOB, to add to the 13 Groups and the five BIS that she has also won. It’s also been an exciting and busy time for Mark her handler in another direction as he got married just two weeks ago and yet has still managed to pick up her last three CCs in just eight days.

An emotional Mark said that it ha d been a roller coaster of thrills and enjoyment showing Magic and he had been amazed at the wonderful support he had always had from Dalmatian exhibitors and everybody else who has been so supportive.

“I can hardly believe it’s happened to me, it just proves that you can come from any background and dog showing will accept you. Anyone can get to the top in dogs even if you’re just ordinary like I am – I never had anything and I still live in a terraced house. This is the first BIS Magic has won for two years and she also has the CC record so I am retiring her whist she’s still at the top.” Mark added.

Also delighted with Magic’s win was breed enthusiast, Dalmatian Club patron, and Driffield President, Lord Kirkham CVO, and head of Crufts’ sponsors, DFS , told OUR DOGS about how fitting it was that, as a Dalmatian lover himself that he should have seen a Dalmatian top the lot. Lord Kirkham said: “I am absolutely thrilled that a Dalmatian has won and it is fitting that the breed I have had for so long should produce the winner, and isn’t she a beauty?”
