Zena takes the top honour for UK
Zena Thorn Andrews of the Drakesleat kennels recently gained the ultimate top honour, as well as her successful breeding of Irish Wolfhounds and Dachshunds and judging Crufts Best in Show in 2007, she is now the only judge in the UK passed by the KC able to award CCs in all breeds entitled to CCs across the seven groups.
This follows on from her late Husband, Terry Thorn, who also had the accolade of awarding CCs in all breed.
Zena has many fond memories of previous judging appointments and making records in several breeds, but she consistently aims to judge thoroughly, and loyally, expressing that she is delighted to achieve such a merit, considering the fact that she has been judging breeds with CC status since the early 1970s.
Zena told OUR DOGS: ‘I am very grateful to the show societies that have given me the chance to judge all these breeds and to Our Dogs, who have supported me too, over the 46 years. which I appreciate. Thanks too, to all the people who have gone out of their way to either send cards, emails or came over to speak to me, at Birmingham show. Most have also said that terry would have been proud of me!’
We are sure he is! Congratulations Zena!
