Global Canine Welfare Responsibility Forum
The National Kennel Club of China joins forces with Animals Asia Foundation & WSPA for its Global Canine Welfare Responsibility Forum, November 27, 2009, Tianjin, China.
The National Kennel Club of China has announced that Animals Asia Foundation and WSPA-International will be working with NKCC for its upcoming forum. These two world-respected organisations are deeply committed to animal welfare and protection, so desperately needed in China, and have stepped forward joining us in taking action towards improving the welfare of our dogs and all animals. They are our true friends.
“Animals Asia Foundation is a Hong Kong-based government-registered animal welfare charity founded by Jill Robinson MBE in 1998, with offices in the USA, the UK, Germany, Italy and Australia.” “The mission of the Animals Asia Foundation is to improve the lives of all animals in Asia, end cruelty and restore respect for animals Asia-wide.” (www.animalsasia.org/)
“WSPA has been promoting animal welfare for more than 25 years. Our work is concentrated in regions of the world where few, if any, measures exist to protect animals.”
“With consultative status at the United Nations and the Council of Europe, WSPA is the world‘s largest alliance of animal welfare societies.” “…with more than 900 member organisations in over 150 countries.”
WSPA’s work is focused on four priority animal welfare areas: Commercial exploitation of wildlife, Farm animals, Disaster management, and Companion animals – responsible pet ownership, humane stray management, and cruelty prevention. (www.wspa-international.org)
NGKC has always believed in engagement rather than confrontation in all its affairs.
With substantial support from our two new friends, we will be engaging our government and authorities in implementing a proven dog population management pilot program for the municipality of Tianjin, and eventually throughout China.
NGKC wishes to also thank the following organizations for their invaluable support and advise: The Morris Animal Foundation, the Humane Society International, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Humane Society, the Alliance for Rabies Control, the Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs, the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, and the ASPCA.
Also for their sincere support and official attendance, the Canadian Kennel Club, The Korean Kennel Club, and the Westminster Kennel Club. To the editors and media friends, Dog News, Dogs-in-Review, Our Dogs and Show Time.
We at NGKC take pride in describing ourselves as a National Registry/Kennel Club, and as an Animal Welfare Organization, with our immediate priorities in the latter. We honestly believe that Kennel Clubs and Animal Welfare organizations can work together in helping our beloved canine friends and all animals.
