Mini wows the USA

Rellih's Little Indian Rellih's Little Indian

A Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund in the USA sired by a dog sent over by Zena Thorn-Andrews (Drakesleat) has became the youngest ever dachshund to obtain his Tracking title, at just 16-weeks-old!

Now aged seven months, Rellih's Little Indian has just beat all the dogs in the sporting group at a tracking event held in Alton VA, run by the Tarheel Weimaraner club. His sire is Ch/Am/Can Ch Drakesleat Spaghetti Junction (Pedro).

His owner, Linda Snyder, told us: ‘Even though the gallery realised he passed his certification at three-and-a-half months, I could tell by the look on their faces that this very small seven-month-old puppy was not impressing them at all! It was only after he took off with me literally running behind him on the first two legs, that their opinions changed! He did a marvellous job and I am so very proud of him. When we came out of the field everyone wanted to hold him - so he got passed around, wagging his tail and licking faces - we had a great time!! One of the Weimaraners also qualified, but the others did not pass. All of our hard work paid off!’

Interestingly, sire Pedro is also one of the top truffle finders in the states! As Zena says, definitely proof that dachshunds can be Fit for Function!
