British bred Pomeranian gains American title

Foxhue Cryptic Puzzle

It is 28 years since the last 100% English bred Pomeranian gained its American title, now this honour has gone to American Champion Foxhue Cryptic Puzzle (Trenarwyn The Puzzle Master x Foxhue Zupermaid) bred by Val Christopher, (Foxhue).

Cody is a black and tan, a colour which although no longer recognised in the KC standard is fully recognised around the world, so in May 2008 Caroline & Maureen Odd, Trenarwyn exported him on behalf of Val to Kathy Norem of Eaglecreek Pomeranians in Indiana. Unfortunately due to a busy personal/work schedule Kathy was unable to campaign Cody so in January 2009 Cody went to her good friend Brenda Segelken, Fame Pomeranians based in Illinois. Brenda campaigned Cody from May to August 2009 finishing him with 3 Majors.

According to Pomeranian historian Vivienne Peterson, the last dogs of full English breeding to gain their US title’s were Am Ch Home James of Rosskear and Am Ch Rosskear Promised Land who were exported by Ann Winter, both gained their American titles in 1981.

Eve Smail of Toybox Pomeranians exported the bitch Ch Toybox One Step To Heaven and she gained her title in 1995 but was 50% English lines and 50% American lines, her sire was an imported American dog Am, Can, Irish Ch Stolannes Highway to Heaven At Toybox.
