Our Dogs and Viyo Elite are delighted to announce the Top Breeders and Top Puppies of 2009.
Top Breeders
The highest scoring breeder in breeds with CC status is from the Pastoral Group in the form of Diane Mottram, repeating her 2007 achievement with her well-known Mybeards Polish Lowland Sheepdogs. Separated by just one point, she is closely followed by Nick Gourley and Andrew Leonard with their renowned Witchstone English Toy Terriers, heading the Toy Group.
Running joint third, with the highest score in the Gundog Group, is the highly successful partnership of Barbara and Sharon Pinkerton of the Bareve German Wirehaired Pointers. They share equal points with Amanda McLaren of the Corsini BSD Tervueren – runner-up in the Pastoral Group to the over all leader.
Heading the Utility Group is Ken Sinclair with his famous Araki Tibetan Terriers. The Terrier Group is led by Lesley Crawley’s Ragus Norwich Terriers whilst the Hounds are topped by Gavin and Sara Robertson’s Soletrader Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) whilst Clive and Nancy Evans scored highest in the Working Group with their Amazon Dobermanns.
2009 was the first year we have included breeds from the Rare and Import Registers in the Top Breeder Competition. Highest score in Rare Breeds came from the Hound Group in the shape of Betty Judge with her Plushcourt Podengos, amassing an impressive 66 points. The highest scoring breeder from the Import Breeds Register also came from the Hound Group as Jill Morris flew the flag with her Anharbn Cirneco Dell’ Etna.
A full listing of the Top Breeders in each breed was published in last week’s Our Dogs on pages 10 and 11 and can be found online at www.topbreeder.viyo-elite.com
