Feeding your itchy dog

Is your dog always scratching? After ruling out some possible causes with your vet, such as environmental allergies, fleas, mites, bacterial or yeast infections, it might be time to take some food for thought…..

Itchy skin and recurrent ear infections may be symptomatic of an adverse food reaction. One might typically expect a dog suffering from dietary allergies to suffer from digestive problems, but the skin and coat are often affected; frequently the ears and/or feet.

Avoidance of the more common dietary allergens* and blended ingredients such as meat and animal derivatives may be helpful in alleviating symptoms if your dog’s immune system is upset by one or more of these ingredients.

Try phasing in the Arden Grange Lamb & Rice, which is an easily digested and delicious recipe containing meadow-reared lamb as the primary protein source which ensures a good supply of the essential amino acids necessary for efficient structural and metabolic functioning. Combine this with ‘phasing out’ of some of the potentially provocative ingredients commonly used in other pet foods, which might also be contributing towards the problem, and you may have your solution.

Arden Grange Lamb & Rice is a complete, hypoallergenic diet, and free from the main ingredients known to provoke adverse food reactions in dogs – *wheat gluten, beef, soya and dairy products. Optimum levels of vitamins and minerals, and the correct ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids are also included to help to promote good skin and coat condition.

All Arden Grange foods are free from any artificial colourings and flavourings and are preserved naturally with a combination of mixed tocopherols (vitamin E) and rosemary. None of the ingredients in the recipes are genetically modified.

Arden Grange Lamb & Rice is available from your local pet food supplier at £36.98 for a 15kg bag.
