OUR DOGS is delighted to announce that from February, Martin Sanders (Castellcoch) will be joining our growing band of contributors, to bring readers even more news.

Martin was born into the world of dogs, continuing three generations of a doggy family, since the mid 60’s he has been involved at all levels, including showing, breeding and judging.

Since moving to South Wales due to work commitments some 30 years ago, Martin, after meeting his wife Carol, decided to make South Wales his home. Once settled in South Wales he soon became involved with the canine scene, taking on the role of Secretary of Pontypridd and District Canine Society from 1983 to 1992 then retiring and moving on to Machen Agricultural Show from 1993 to 1998.

Martin is currently Secretary of Cardiff Canine Society a position he has held since 2003. He is Chairman of the Akita Club of Wales and organizer of the special event, The Welsh Junior of the Year.

Martin is a familiar and well known figure throughout the canine world and in his new role as Welsh Correspondent he would only be too happy to receive points of interest, news, and promote Welsh canine events in his fortnightly column.

Editor Ali Smith said: ‘I am delighted to have Martin on the team, and his experience and love of the game will bring even more to the paper.’

Martin’s first column will appear in our February 12 issue.

Martin can be contacted via e mail martin.dog@hotmail.co.uk or telephone 02920 813402.
