Northern Ireland Dog and Puppy of 2009

The Northern Ireland Dog and Puppy of 2009, hosted by Lisburn and District Canine Society, was held at the Balmoral Hotel, Belfast on Saturday 16th January.

It was another great weekend for the Brooklynbear Newfoundland team of Willie, Amanda and William Jr Dobbin following on from their RBIS and BPIS success at Boston Championship show the previous weekend.

Judge for the event was Diana Bousfield of the Yacanto Great Danes and Shar Pei affix who chose Ch & GB Ch Fairweathers Knockout at Brooklynbear as the NI Working/Pastoral Dog of the Year handled by William Jr. The runner up spot went to the Dobermann Int, Ch & GB Ch Aritaur Hipnotique owned by Jewell Fleming, Billy and Josh Henderson.

It was another Newfoundland, this time Storm's daughter Gracie, Brooklynbear Picasso, handled by Willie that took the NI Working/Pastoral Pup of 2009 title. In runner sort was another Dobermann, this time Alan Martin’s homebred Colenso Devil May Care.

Judge Diana Bousfield was presented with a memento of the event by the Lord Mayor of Lisburn Mr Alan Ewart who attended the event with his wife Denise.
