Obituary - Dolly Boyles

It is with great sadness that I learned of the news of the death of Dolly Boyles, writes Steven J Green, Chairman of Oxfordshire CS.

Having joined the committee of Oxfordshire Canine Society in 1957 she remained one of its mainstays of for over 50 years, having served in numerous roles throughout that time, in particular as its Chairman for over 25 years.

Dolly, along with her late husband, started the Honey Bottom kennels - the same name granted by the Kennel Club under which she bred Labradors and her beloved Cocker Spaniels over the years.

Never afraid of working hard, she would put a person half her age to shame with the energy and enthusiasm she put into life, and it was only after a second stroke a few years back that she was forced to stand down from active work on the committee, and she took on the role of a Patron and Vice President of the Society.

She died after a short time in the John Radcliff Hospital, Oxford on Sunday 28 February aged 89, our thoughts are with her remaining family.
