|Best Kept Secret Top Dog 2017
THE OVERALL winner of the OUR DOGS/Arden Grange Top Dog competition for 2017 was the Miniature Poodle, Melanie Harwood's Ch Minarets Best Kept Secret, who amassed a staggering 157 points from wins over the year.
In the CC breeds, topping the Gundog group was the Gordon Setter, Alcorn Crowther, Baddeley & Swan's Ch Lourdace Fulcrum, on 53 points.
In Hounds, it was 128 points for Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, Ch Soletrader Magic Mike, handled by Sara Robertson and co-owned by her with Wendy Doherty.
Topping the Pastoral was the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ch Pemcader Thunderball, also known as Mr Magnus, owned by Kevin Dover & Lars Saether.
The Wire Fox Terrier topped the Terriers, this was Ch Am Gr Bra Ch Hampton Courts Monte Cristo, owned by Victor Malzoni Jr.
Tony Allcock MBE took the top spot in the Toy group with his Japanese Chin, Ch Sleepyhollow Robson, on 53 points and finally, in the Working group, the overall leader was the Bernese Mountain Dog, Bernice Mair, Carole Hartley-Mair & Gary Dybdall's Ch Meadowpark High Class, on 130 points.
In the non CC breeds, the overall winner was the Griffon Fauve de Bretagne, Hibeck Dino, owned by J McDonald Ulliott, on 52 points.
The Working group was topped by the Russian Black Terrier, Paul Perk's Dromnagus Black Ice, on 28 points.
Utility saw the Kooikerhondje, Sara Williams' Cairnbraid Onwaba Lukimbi of Gladsheim take the top on 29 points. He was bred by Kathleen De Bonnet from Belgium.
Topping the Toy group was the Bolognese, Ir ch Little White Wonder Othello Matteo, belonging to Virginia Dowty and Kathryn Begg.
The Estrela Mountain Dog was top of the Pastoral group, Bermingham, Kendrick & Almeida's Port Ch Odi Da Casa de Loas Em Bamcwt, only one point behind the Hound winner, on 51 points.
And finally, the Gundog winner was the Portuguese Pointer, Westaway's Perdizcyo Ada Lovelace, on 29 points.
