KBT wins Irelandís Best of the Best Supermatch

Issue: 02/02/2018

There was great excitement last Saturday at the National Show Centre in Dublin where the Navan Dog Club organised the inaugural Best of the Best SuperMatch Contest, which was run as a charity event in aid of Scoliosis Ireland.

There was a great entry of 211 of the country's best dogs from 2017 making it a very exciting prospect, with these great dogs coming up against each other from early rounds of the match, right through to the end.  273 of the Qualifying puppies were entered and there was hot competition to find the winner here too, while 30 Veterans challenged for the Veteran title.

The organising team had invited four of the most respected and experienced judges in the UK and Ireland to make the decisions and going through the entry in a one against one match basis were Graham Hill, Jeff Horswell and Zena Thorn Andrews from the UK, while Ann Ingram represented Ireland on the panel.

Making it all the way to top the first Best of the Best Contest in Ireland was Una Rigney and Jessica McGurk's Kerry Blue Terrier Ch Arigna First Lady, who was handled by Dublin based breeder Una, of the famous Arigna Kerries.
