UKs first interactive walk

Issue: 06/07/2018

Dog owners from around the country are being encouraged to go to Worcestershire and take part in Britain's first 'interactive' dog walk.
Great Malvern has the most dog friendly shop in the UK and all the places along the walk allow dogs inside.
Along the walk owners, and dogs, can enjoy some idiosyncratic features including a bench based on Mr Tumnus from C. S. Lewis' The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe.
During the leisurely walk, people can learn about the Victorian Water Cure, which attracted the likes of Charles Dickens, Florence Nightingale, Charles Darwin and Lord Tennyson.
Much needed refreshment can by found at a well offering free filtered spring water.
Scientific breakthroughs, Morgan Cars, Edward Elgar and theatrical firsts are covered by the walk, as well as the chance to find out more about Great Malvern's amazing buildings.
Free guides are available for the walk along with an activity pack for children. Although steep in places there are lots of resting places with great views.
The walk does features flights of stairs but there are ways around this for wheelchair and pushchair users.
Commenting on the walk, Project Partner David Armitage of Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, said, 'This is a really innovative way for people to appreciate our beautiful town and its fascinating history that spans centuries. We're delighted to spearhead this interactive approach to discovery and underline the fact there's more to Malvern than the hills.'
