Eukanuba World Challenge 2010 UK Representative Accolade taken by Storm
The Newfoundland “UK Ch / Irish Ch / Danish Ch Fairweathers’s Knock Out with Brooklynbear (Imp) (Storm) owned by William & Amanda Dobbin, will be representing the UK at the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge in Long Beach, California. The annual event is hosted by the AKC/Eukanuba National Championships on 4th & 5th December. Storm will have the opportunity to compete for the title “Eukanuba World Challenge 2010 Champion” along with the $10,000 prize.
Storm was selected by the three renowned judges Liz Cartledge, Ron James and Michael Quinney, at the Eukanuba Champion Stakes which took place on Saturday at the Chesford Grange Hotel. He was the highest placed dog fulfilling the criteria and had his pet passport in place. William, who has visited dog shows in the USA as an exhibitor and a judge, is very much looking forward to representing the UK at the Eukanuba World Challenge. “Storm has enjoyed a great show career to date and this is a wonderful, a once in a lifetime opportunity for us”.
The 5 year old was bred by Giorgio and Loredana Salina in Switzerland. They raised him on Eukanuba nutrition and when he arrived at the Brooklynbear kennel at 10 months of age William continued his Eukanuba nutrition regime. William says “When you have a double coated breed you need to keep the two coats in top condition, I feed what works to maintain this”. William and Amanda have been breeding Newfoundland for 32 years and William has campaigned Storm to 28 CC’s, Multi BIS and Multi Ch titles. He has produced several Champions both here in the UK and overseas.
All three judges agreed that the Champion Stakes event was well organised and that all the dogs were of superb quality.
Liz commented “This is the first time I have attended the Eukanuba Champion Stakes and it was absolutely fabulous, the best event of its type that I have attended. All the judges were compatible and in agreement with their selections. All the dogs were excellent and our top 5 were outstanding. It is more challenging to judge the cream of the entire show year’s efforts but thoroughly enjoyable to do so at such a well run event”.
Michael said “In my entire entire judging career, having judged around the world, I have never found better dogs anywhere. This must be the best opportunity to have been given to see such great dogs at close range and to go over so many fabulous dogs. It was a pleasure and I am not sure that in my lifetime it will ever be repeated again”.
Ron added “An extremely good collection of excellent top quality examples of their breeds. The Newfie was marvellous, an outstanding example of the breed and very worthy to represent the UK at the Eukanuba World Challenge.”
The breeders and owners of the Eukanuba UK Champion Stakes winner Multi BIS winner, Ch Vanitonia Unwrapped, Tom Isherwood and Lee Cox wish William and Storm the very best of British “We are sure that Storm will do the UK proud”.
