Pekingese meeting at Midland Counties

The following press release was issued following the meeting of the
Pekingese Clubs held at Midland Counties, Stafford on October 23rd.

There were 16 Representatives from 17 Pekingese breed clubs present
(Sleeve Dog absentee through ill health).

This was a very positive meeting chaired by Mr Roy Metcalfe.

Mrs Joyce Mitchell, Breed Liaison Officer opened the meeting and gave a short speech regarding the breed working together.

The key points agreed at the meeting were as follows:

» The general consensus was of unity and agreement to work with the
new Breed Standard for the good and health of the breed.

» There was unanimous support for the breed workshop to be
held on November 22 and all clubs would be represented.

» All breed clubs would fully support a Kennel Club Health Survey.

» The feeling of the meeting was that we now move forward, united from this point,
our one aim being to safeguard the welfare of the breed.
