European Show 2009

All roads (and boats!) lead to Dublin this weekend for the
long awaited European dog show which is being staged for the first time in Ireland.
With an entry of 4000 dogs, it is the biggest ever show to take place on the island of Ireland
and is sure to attract a gate of local and foreign visitors.

There will be a good selection of trade stands for the shoppers
and main ring attractions as a diversion from breed judging.

Our Dogs has been proud to support the Irish Kennel Club from the very start
when they won the right to stage the show three years ago in Helsinki..how time flies.

Enjoy the show!

Kennel Club Appeal For Dog Walkers In Cumbria

The Kennel Club, the UK’s largest organisation dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs,
is looking for dog walkers in the Cumbria area to take part in a discussion on Monday 1st June
about the new walking route proposed for the coastline.

The route is proposed as part of the Marine and Coastal Access Bill currently going through Parliament.
The Kennel Club has suggested amendments to the bill, aimed at keeping the route open for dogs
and would like to hear from local dog owners, particularly those who have walked
the coastline anywhere between Whitehaven and Gretna.

If successful, the Kennel Club’s amendments to the bill will prevent the application of dog control orders
on the coastline, which are currently used by local authorities to place needless
and excessive restrictions on access for dog walkers to public places.

If you are able to help, please contact Emily Jeffrey, Senior Public Affairs Officer,
at the Kennel Club on 020 7518 1020 or emily.jeffrey@thekennelclub.org.uk.
