Eukanuba World Challenge 08 Australian representative triumphs at FCI Section Show in Taiwan Aust Grand Ch /JKC Ch Smash JP Three Belle Jackpot won Best in Show at the Asia FCI Section show, organised by Mr Chan Teng-An and the Kennel Club of Taiwan in Taipei. It was the first time that they had been given the opportunity to host this annual show. Karl Reisinger, FCI Vice President and esteemed judge was given the honour of selecting from the 10 FCI Group Winners and awarding the FCI Winner BIS accolade. Karl comments "I had a lovely selection of dogs in my BIS line up. I choose a very worthy winner. For me, the White Toy Poodle was outstanding in both breed type and movement, presented in excellent condition and handled to perfection".
This very desirable win, under the newly introduced Eukanuba World Challenge rules and regulations, will afford Jackpot another opportunity to participate at the 2009 Eukanuba World Challenge, this time as the representative of the FCI Asian Section Show.
Jackpot defeated 803 dogs competing from countries around Asia and Oceania region to earn his FCI Winner BIS title. Four year old Jackpot was handled to this success by his impressively proficient co-breeder, Toshinori Omura. Jackpot now lives in Taiwan with his new owner, Eukanuba Breeder Club member, Ms Yu Sang Sung who has owned and bred Toy Poodles for over 20 years under the Snow Castle kennel name. She represented Taiwan at the 2008 Eukanuba World Challenge with a home bred Toy Poodle. She said "It truly is an honour to be selected to participate and to be a representative at the Eukanuba World Challenge in 2009. The World Will be Challenged by a Jackpot Winner The dog selected to represent the FCI Asia section at the EWC 09 is Aust. G Ch / JKC Ch Smash JP Three Belle Jackpot. The four year old international winning male is no stranger to the prestigious event as he represented Australia with his, at the time, owners Cheryl and John Lecourt , handled successfully by the very gifted former Crufts junior handler winner, Simon Briggs. It was after the EWC 08 that Jackpot went to Taiwan to live with his now owners, Yu Sang Sung.
Campaigned to the status of a highly successful show dog, Jackpot has won 35 all breed BIS titles including twice winner of the FCI Asia Section Show (Taiwan and Japan), Ranking No 1 Australia All Breeds 2008, Australia's All-time top Winning Toy Poodle and is the only dog all time to have won BIS at all five key Royal Shows.
Born on 4th Feb 2005, bred by Toshi and Yukiko Omura, Jackpot's dam is JKC Ch Smash JP Dream Catcher by RT and his sire is Am Ch/ Arg Ch Chasing Ray's Salva, a dog that caught the watchful eye of Toshi. Since Jackpot has been living in Taiwan, Toshi has taken the lead and is now showing the stylish Jackpot in the ring. Cheryl, John and Simon all felt a sense of loss when Jackpot went to live with Yu Sang but knew that deep down he had achieved everything possible in Australia and felt that it was the right thing to do by allowing the dog to be campaigned in Asia. They are delighted for his continued success and said "He is a very special dog who loved to sleep on Simon's bed at night. We wish Jackpot, Yu Sang and Toshi all the very best of luck at the 2009 Eukanuba World Challenge"
