Best in show winner at the National Gundog Association championship show
last weekend was the Flatcoated Retriever, Irvine's Sh Ch Vbos The Kentuckian
which was group three at last year's show.

The win comes close on the heels of a recent best in show at the East of England show last month.

A LECTURE BY CELEBRATED ART HISTORIAN WILLIAM SECORD

The Influence of Sir Edwin Landseer on canine artists of his time and afterThe Kennel Club Art Gallery is proud to present ‘The Influence of Sir Edwin Landseer on canine artists of his time and after’, a lecture by celebrated art historian William Secord.

Mr Secord is a recognised expert in 19th century canine art and is the author of four books on the subject.

His most recent book entitled ‘Dog Painting: A History of the Dog in Art’ was published earlier this year.

This special event is being held in conjunction with the Kennel Club Art Gallery's current exhibition ‘Pets & Prizewinners: An exhibition depicting the development of Victorian and Edwardian canine art’. This exhibition features one of Sir Edwin Landseer’s most famous and best loved dog paintings ‘A Distinguished Member of the Humane Society’, on loan from the Tate collection and on display in the UK for the first time in 50 years. The lecture will take place at the Kennel Club Art Gallery on Tuesday 15th September at 2.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £12.50, and include a traditional afternoon tea. Guests attending the lecture will also have the opportunity to view the ‘Pets & Prizewinners’ exhibition.

Puppy Farm Awareness Day

The World’s Biggest Puppy Party is taking place on Saturday 19th September
between 10am and 4pm at Brighton Race Course, East Sussex.

The event is free to attend, but you will need to register for a ticket if you want to come.

The World’s Biggest puppy party is a fun event with a serious message.

The aim is to make the day as fun as possible, but also to increase people’s awareness
about what a big problem puppy farming is in this country.
