World Dog Show 2010

Paw Track

Pawtrack.com, affordable GPS Pet Tracking
Pawtrack is a new pet tracking system, which is being launched at www.pawtrack.com. The Pawtrack collar fits snugly around a pet’s neck, and measures just 6cm by 4cm, weighing only 50g: Light, water resistant, tough and robust- it is ideal for any size dog.
Tracking
The collar calculates the pet’s position and transmits this back to the Pawtrack server, allowing you to view the pet’s location anywhere in the world at www.pawtrack.com.

In stand by mode the collar transmits the current location every hour for 7 days, but should your pet go missing it can be remotely switched via the PC into alarm mode, and transmit the location every 5 minutes.
Paw Track
The web site at www.pawtrack.com allows you to view the history of where your pet has been, allowing you to build up a picture of where your pet goes. It also offers a geo-fence or virtual boundary. Should the pet wander outside, then you will be notified by email and sms.
Paw Track
Cost
The tracker costs just £99.99, and there is a subscription charge of £10 per month.

This charge allows you to view up to 1200 locations in any given month, you will not be charged additionally to find out where your pet is, and all email alerts are provided free.
Pawtrack Needs You!
The first 100 subscribers to sign up to the service will be part of our evaluation program- no monthly subscription will be charged for the first month, and you will be able to return the Pawtrack tracker if you are not 100% satisfied.
Follow Betty
Go to www.pawtrack.com to see live tracking, and see where Betty, the Slovakian Wired Hair Pointer has been as she charges through the countryside. You will have more luck keeping up with her owner!

Breed clubs praised for positive work

The Kennel Club last week published the final versions of the revised breed standards, which came into force on 1 October, to help to ensure that all breeds are healthy, of good temperament
and fit for their original function.

All Breed Standards were initially reviewed by the Kennel Club in January 2009 and interim changes were made to 78 of the standards. A six month period of consultation with Breed Clubs, Breed Councils
and major veterinary organisations ensued, after which further review was undertaken.

A total of 29 of the interim standards were amended as a result of the points raised during the consultation period and the final Breed Standards are now available to view online or to download from the Kennel Club website. The October 2009 edition of the Kennel Gazette also lists the further amendments made
. Those standards which were amended in January 2009, and to which no further changes are proposed,
are not listed in the Gazette.
