The Kennel Club are bringing more than 20 different breeds of pedigree dogs and the North West regional heat of Scruffts will be hosted at the show PLUS be inspired by amazing true stories of heroic search and rescue dogs, The International Cat Association (TICA) will have some of the world's most fascinating and rarest breeds on show, get up close and personal with the creepy-crawly kingdom in our critter jungle, watch a spectacular showcase of skill and beauty in the parrot display, have a go at show jumping on an Olympic mechanical horse and learn top tips about grooming and looking after ponies, explore the weird and wonderful world under the sea as Blue Planet showcase their interactive marine displays, meet brand new baby chicks, chinchillas, giant bunnies, budgerigars, rats, skunks, and a raccoon called Melanie, visit our on-site petting farm complete with alpacas, get advice and top pet tips from Willows Vets and don't miss the Zoflora Central Arena which will play host to a packed schedule of shows and demonstrations all weekend!

Lorraine Frain was drawn as the lucky winner of the £1,000 Prize Draw, which was provided courtesy of the Kennel Club 4 Weeks Free Puppy Insurance in association with Dog Friendly.

The first-time breeder of Cocker Spaniels who received her prize at the Kennel Club in August, was drawn after being automatically entered by simply setting up the Kennel Club 4 Weeks Free Insurance for the puppies she sold.

Front page story - Scanned Cavaliers could give biased results

THE KENNEL Club has said it it is too soon to draw any decisive conclusions from the recent BVA test results, which concluded that all Cavaliers King Charles Spaniels scanned for the chiari malformation (CM) were in the highest band.

Vets-Get-Scanning present a Halo microchip scanner rescue

At the Paws in the Park event held recently at Red House Park, Great Barr, Birmingham and organised by K9 Search UK, Pet Theft Awareness and Bruce Forsyth's Vets Get Scanning organisations presented a Halo scanner to the West Midlands based, Wild Acre Rescue who promote the welfare of ill-treated, abandoned and homeless animals in the area.

The National offers space to open shows

There is a limited amount of free space available at the Stafford Showground during the National Dog Show in 2014 (8th - 11th May) and the Committee would like to offer it for use by breed clubs.

Kennel Club praised in sequel to German Pedigree Dogs Exposed

The German PDE aired in Germany in August 2011 - a film by Phillip Hampl, rather memorably kicked off with the mating of a Nova Scotia Tolling Retriever to an Australian Shepherd, triggering German breeders to hyperventilate in horror.

New opportunity for pets

Potential furry fashionistas have the opportunity to become Buyagift's Next Pet model.
