Fabulous free ferry competition
from P&O Ferries and OUR DOGS!
If you fancy a trip on the Continent this summer and you don’t want to leave your pet pooch behind, P&O Ferries is offering you and your dog the chance to sail to France for free in celebration of National Pet Week.
It means three lucky OUR DOGS readers will each win a standard return Dover-Calais ferry crossing for a car, up to nine passengers and one dog courtesy of P&O Ferries in this great competition.
The winners will be able to stay on the Continent for as long as they like, whether for a one-day shopping trip, short break or main holiday. And the family pet will get to enjoy it too, provided it has a valid pet passport.
P&O Ferries took the lead by bringing the first pet into the UK when the Pet Travel Scheme was launched in 2000. Since then the company has carried almost 60,000 pets and extended its involvement so the scheme is now available on its routes from Hull to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge as well.
The Scheme is operated by DEFRA (full details www.defra.gov.uk) and means pets can be brought back to the UK without a lengthy and expensive stay in quarantine.
The crossing to Calais takes 90 minutes and once on board, as the dog rests in the car, owners will be spoilt for choice. There are hundreds of special offers and seasonal promotions plus savings of up to 50 per cent on high street prices on perfume, tobacco, wine and beer.
There is a wide range of self-service eateries including buffets and carveries on board that offer great choice and even greater value for families. Children under 16 eat half price and there is free baby food available upon request. Or if you fancy treating yourself you can dine in the floating version of London’s Langan’s Brasserie.
To stand a chance of winning one of the free ferry crossings just answer the following question:
What year did the first pet sail under the Pet Travel Scheme?
Send your answer on a postcard - not forgetting your name and address - to:
Louise Warburton
