YORK (January 27, 2003) - The American Kennel Club and The Iams
Company are delighted to announce that The Burbank Kennel Club
will hold its 2003 all-breed dog show on Thursday, December
4, 2003, in Long Beach, California, in conjunction with the
The AKC/Eukanuba National Invitational Championship.
The
Burbank Kennel Club will change the date and sight site of
its 2003 show to and hold it at the Long Beach Convention
and Entertainment Center following the AKC/Eukanuba National
Invitational Championship. The Dog Hair and Eggnog Classic,
which is comprised of the Long Beach, Los Encinos and Shore
Line Kennel Clubs, is also changing its dates for 2003, and
will be held December 5 - 7. There will now be four all-breed
dog shows at this venue following The AKC/Eukanuba National
Invitational Championship.
"Adding
another quality event, at this wonderful location will increase
the convenience to exhibitors and adds to the excitement surrounding
our show," said Show Chairman Ron Menaker. "We are
thrilled that all of the kennel clubs involved want to be
a part of the week's festivities, and thank them for their
hard work and efforts."
The
newly expanded Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center
is a multi-purpose complex located on the Pacific Ocean, about
30 miles south of Los Angeles. It will easily accommodate
the large number of attendees and dogs expected for the 2003
shows.
The
2003 AKC/Eukanuba National Invitational Championship will
mark the third year of the AKC's premier showcase for dogs,
which is co-presented by by The Iams CompanyIams/Eukanuba.
Animal Planet will continue to broadcast the show nationally.
It will be the first time
that tThe AKC will bring its most popular national events
together to one venue. In addition to the National Invitational,
The AKC National Agility Championship and The AKC National
Obedience Invitational will also be held on Wednesday and
Thursday, December 3 - 4, 2003 in Long Beach, CA.
