Animal service with blessing of pets
THE BLUE Cross animal welfare charity will be holding an animal service and blessing of pets on Sunday 7th October 2001. The event will take place at St Paul's Covent garden, Bedford Street, London WC2.
The animal service - held on the Sunday closest to the feast of the patron saint of animals , St Francis of Assisi - promises to be a hoot and a howl as animals come in 'two-by-two' ranging from parrots to snakes as well as the more common pets like cats and dogs. Animal-themed hymns and prayers will be included in the service which is to be held in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Harvey Marshall QC. All donations received from the event will go towards helping the animals in the care of the Blue Cross.
Any animal lover wishing to attend the Animal Service is asked to contact Siobhan Murphy at the Blue Cross on 0207-927 7509.
