On Friday the 8th November, the Kennel Club Communications & Customer Services (CCS) Department, based in Aylesbury, attended the Aylesbury Business Excellence Awards 2002 and were awarded First Place in the Performance Through People Award and Runner Up in the Award for Achievement And Most Impact By A New Company.
Now in its sixth year the awards presentation night is always well attended by local businesses and whilst competition is friendly, it is also fierce! These awards have become the highlight of the Aylesbury business calendar, and the Guest Of Honour for the evening was Olympic athlete Roger Black MBE. The award categories ranged from Company Of The Year and Performance Through People to Small Business of the Year, Customer Service Award and Team of the Year.
The initial assessment was carried out by assessors who visited the CCS offices on 30 October, and were quite clear that the Kennel Club was a worthy winner. In the conclusion it was stated that the CCS department "well deserves its Recognition as an Investor in People. Excellent!"
On the Kennel Clubs tremendous win, Judges on the night said, "Having re-located the major part of its operations from London to Aylesbury, and employed a lot of new staff locally, the Kennel Club has made remarkable progress in a short period of time. We were impressed by their clear sense of direction and by their outstanding induction and training programmes which are ensuring that the company objectives are being achieved.
The dedication to creating a strong team spirit among employees through flexible working and training has paid off. They have achieved Investors In People and developed strong links within the local community."
Said Diane Farrell, CCS Executive, " We were absolutely delighted to receive this recognition for the Aylesbury Team. A recent independent survey graded our call centre as outperforming examples from all other industries for the knowledge of relevant business displayed by our team members.
