Canine
Partners, the registered charity which trains assistance dogs
to help people with disabilities, is delighted to announce that
His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester visited their headquarters
at Steep Marsh, near Petersfield, Hampshire, at 2.00 pm on Wednesday,
5th March.
Accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mrs Mary Fagan,
His Royal Highness was met by Chairman of the Trustees Mrs Nicky
Pendleton, the Chief Executive Mr Terry Knott and two Vice Presidents,
Mr Roger Jefcoate and Mr Chris Moon.
After meeting Trustees and staff, His Royal Highness saw a demonstration
of how Canine Partners' assistance dogs are trained to transform
the lives of people with disabilities, by Ms Nina Bondarenko
Programme Director.
Terry Knott gave a presentation on the new Centre located at
Heyshott, Midhurst and His Royal Highness then had the opportunity
to talk informally to Trustees and staff before departing at
3.30 pm.
Mrs Nicky Pendleton says "We are all so glad that His Royal
Highness came to visit us. As a small charity, it is vital for
our growth and success that we raise awareness of the wonderful
work that Canine Partners does for disabled people".
