Congratulations to Barbara and Sharon Pinkerton who won BIS at Scottish Kennel Club with their homebred GWP - Sh Ch Bareve Biwindi - the first of her breed to win such an honour at a championship show.
The journey to BIS was made all the more special because the Group judge on the day was Mr A G Nicholls who amongst his credentials is an 'A' panel Field Trial judge. The Pinkertons have been in the breed for 35 years and the win was particularly special as Barbara was at the ringside to see the action, whereas she is normally at the benches looking after the dogs. At Gundog Society of Wales the mother and daughter pair made up their sh Ch Bareve Bandari, who is their 30th Bareve Champion and the first Black and White GWP show champion in the UK.
The first foreign-bred (excluding Ireland) Irish Water Spaniel has been made up by the name of Sh Ch Catanka Hurly Curly, owned by Keith and Chris Attwood, and bred in Finland by Seidi Linnavouri.
