Long distance walk for canine charities

Alisa Caisley and Ali Packham, accompanied by their rescue lurchers Otis and Meg, will be walking the South Downs Way at the end of April to raise money for 3 animal rescues:

Mid Sussex Happy Breed Dog Rescue Society

Last Chance Animal Rescue

Greyhound Rescue West of England

The South Downs Way is 101 miles long stretching from Winchester, Hampshire to Eastbourne, East Sussex. They aim to complete the Way in 8 days, walking an average of 12 ½ miles per day. That might not seem very far, but the South Downs are rather hilly!!   Here's Otis pausing to admire the view during yesterday's training session, while the humans paused to get their breath back!

The walk will start on Saturday 24th April in Winchester and will finish in Eastbourne on Saturday 1st May 2004.

To find out more about the route and the chosen charities, and to follow the daily progress, click this link: South Downs Way Sponsored Walk

Sponsor slips for individual donations can also be downloaded from the site if anyone is interested in sponsoring them   Likewise they would be delighted if anyone wanted to contact us to discuss corporate sponsorship... a book deal....the screen play??

All funds raised will be split equally among the 3 charities.

Please wish them luck, and hope that the southern distributors of Kendall Mint Cake are able to keep up with their outrageous demands upon supplies!
