MEMBERS OF the Lugari Dog Club, a not-for-profit dog training club based in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, are putting on their walking boots at the end of April for a sponsored walk in aid of Canine Partners for Independence.
The club, which has a long history of strong involvement with community fundraising and education, is all geared up for what is set to be one of the best local fundraising events of the year.
The Bluebell Sponsored Walk will take place on Saturday 23rd April at the Ashbridge Estate in Hertfordshire, starting at the Bridgewater Monument at 12pm. The walk will comprise of a one mile circuit around the meadow which participants can walk once or as many times as they like.
Also, a second course will comprise of a walk not for the faint hearted! The route will take participants who are up for a challenge along the Duncombe Terrace of Ashridge for a five mile round trip which can be done once or as many times as they like!
The walk is being held to raise money for a remarkable charity – Canine Partners for Independence – who provides highly trained assistant dogs to disabled people to enable them to live as near normal life as possible.
