THE PRESIDENT of the French Kennel Club, la Société Centrale Canine tendered his resignation with effect from July 12th.
Renaud Buche was elected as President of the SCC in May 2000 and was re-elected in 2003. No specific reason has been given by the SCC for his decision to stand down, although a simple statement on the SCC’s website cites "personal reasons". It is understood that M Buche will retain a position on the SCC Committee.
M Buche himself issued a short statement saying: "Despite my lack of availability [as President] which caused me to resign, I will continue all my other functions within the Dog Fancy."
The appointment of the new President, believed to be Camille Michel was due to be confirmed by the SCC Committee at their meeting last Tuesday as we went press.
