Game Fair a great success!

Barking with delight, Geoff Clutton, who runs the Selby Game fair says, ‘This year’s dog events are on target to beat our wildest expectations.’

Lurcherworld have taken on a new dimension with members areas and their own bar with Greyhound racing on the Friday , Simulated coursing, Hurdles, Straight racing and showing on all four days. Family fun events will include Easter egg competition for the kids, Tug of war, Treasure hunt, evening entertainment will include karaoke, disco quizzes etc to make a great family weekend. Geoff Smith from lurcherworld says
"It’s all about having fun and bringing the family into our events as they are the future custodians of the countryside."

Selby gamefair have new arenas with expert Philippa Williams, whom the Kennel club use for their teaching and training section at Crufts. For the Selby gamefair, Philippa will be doing a main ring display with 12 dogs Labradors, Golden retrievers and cocker spaniels all the dogs being bred as working gundogs, but are equally happy doing dog agility. Phillipa will also be running a small ring with agility and questions and answers sessions on all aspects of dog behaviour and obedience.

Adding to this doggy action, The Norfolk and Suffolk HPR. Field trials club will be running a pointer display in the main ring, the club will also have a marquee and small arena for advice and information.

Betty Potts and the Yorkshire bouncers will be holding a National Competition " Selby fly ball National Competition has 48 teams from all over the country with Friday being the starters Saturday and Sunday the two day National and Monday the multi breeds, this is a top event and attracts thousands fly ball is very visual and fun event, this year will see us have second ring for demos and have a goes all money generated will be donated to Hearing Dogs for the Deaf" says Betty.

Selby Game fair is set in front of the magnificent Carlton Towers the Yorkshire home of the Duke of Norfolk and takes place daily for full four days March 25-28th 8-30m -6pm.
